IE expo Shenzhen 2024 concludes with great success

  • 317 exhibitors gathered to ignite industry vitality
  • 16,175 trade visitors enhance the platform's influence across multiple sectors
  • Diverse communication opportunities foster industry integration and development

This fall, Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center played host to the IE expo Shenzhen 2024, which came to a successful close on September 25. The event was a vibrant showcase of green technology, offering an impressive blend of industry collaboration and technological innovation. The “exhibition effect” extended beyond the event itself, creating new opportunities for cooperation and interaction across industries.

Exhibition activities as engines of industry growth
Amid changes in the global economy and market demands, the environmental sector has reached a critical moment in its quest for high-quality development. As the leading environmental exhibition in South China, IE expo Shenzhen 2024—organized by the Guangdong Association of Environmental Protection Industry, Messe Muenchen Zhongmao Co., Ltd., Messe München, and the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences (CSES)—provided 26,000 square meters of exhibition space, featuring 317 exhibitors from 9 countries. The event displayed cutting-edge products, equipment, technologies, and materials.

The expo also hosted 16 industry-focused events, including the 6th Guangdong Environmental Protection Industry High-Quality Development Conference, sparking dynamic exchanges between key players along the entire industrial chain.

Mai Jianbo, President of the Guangdong Association of Environmental Protection Industry, remarked: „For over a decade, IE expo South China has been an essential platform for industry exchange and business growth in the region. This year's event has served as a positive catalyst for the current market.“

Zhu Xiaoqiang, Vice President of Pengkai Environmental Group Research Institute, added: “The South China exhibition continues to demonstrate its potential in promoting partnerships and business development, particularly in the Greater Bay Area.”

16,175 trade visitors boost the platform’s industry influence
As society advances towards a green economy, the demand for environmental protection technologies is growing. Municipal sectors are increasingly seeking out energy-efficient, carbon-reducing innovations, while the industrial sector presents a vast opportunity for environmental protection enterprises.

To keep pace with these developments, the exhibition partnered with nearly 100 industry organizations, including the Shenzhen Water Supply and Drainage Industry Association, Guangdong Circular Economy and Resource Comprehensive Utilization Association, Shenzhen Printing Industry Association, Guangdong Manufacturing Industry Association, Shenzhen Sensor and Intelligent Instrument Industry Association, Guangdong Clean Production Association, Zhuhai Printing Association, Foshan Shunde Printing and Packaging Industry Association, Foshan Food Industry Association, Guangdong Paper Industry Association, Shenzhen Electronics Industry Association, Shenzhen Ecological Landscape Industry Association, Guangdong Textile Engineering Society, as well as official organizations such as the Shenzhen Ecological Environment Bureau, Water Affairs Bureau, and Housing and Urban Rural Development Bureau. Together, they attracted 16,175 trade visitors.

Environmental protection municipal facilities operation and construction units such as Everbright Environment, Shenzhen Water, Hanlan Environment, China Energy saving Tiehan, China Power Construction Ecology, Jiangmen Public Water, as well as industrial manufacturing enterprises such as Huawei, BYD, Wenshi Food, China National Pharmaceutical Group, Libai Group, Huaxing Optoelectronics, and Shentong Petrochemical attended the event.

Li Bijian, Director of Tongji Water Co., Ltd., shared: ‘Our visit to IE expo Shenzhen 2024 was extremely valuable. We discovered several new technologies, such as low-temperature sludge drying and prefabricated sewage treatment plants, which will help guide the upgrades at our facility.’

The trade show also featured four Solution Tours focusing on industries like printing, packaging and electronic chip manufacturing. These tours were guided by professionals, offering attendees in-depth exploration and networking opportunities with relevant exhibitors. Hu Fanghua, Planning Director at Leitz Intelligent Equipment (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., praised the event, saying: “The Solution Tours allowed us to engage directly with potential buyers, facilitating immediate connections between supply and demand.”

As a member of IFAT Worldwide, the event attracted over 100 overseas visitors from 20 countries, including Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand. The Singapore National Environment Agency delegation had fruitful discussions with exhibitors such as Enfo Environment. Zhang Hengshen, Head of Yingfeng Environmental Technology Group's overseas operations, said: ‘This exhibition has been a valuable bridge for us to connect with the Singapore National Environment Agency, offering excellent opportunities to explore international markets.’

Fostering industry integration and development through dynamic exchanges
The trade fair featured a range of high-quality forums on innovative topics, including the “Guangdong Environmental Protection Industry High Quality Development Conference Summit Forum,” “Low Carbon and Green Transformation Forum of Municipal Water Supply and Drainage Facilities Driven by New Quality Productivity,” “Surface Engineering Pollution Prevention and Control Forum,” and the “Artificial Intelligence Big Data Empowering Ecological Environment Technology Innovation Forum.” These forums were well-received by both exhibitors and attendees, stimulating vibrant discussions.

Jing Jianbo, General Manager of Nanjing Zhonghengyuan Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., noted: “The organizers continually enhance the exhibition’s format, enriching both its content and influence. This helps drive the sustainable development of the industry.”

As the exhibition evolves, it offers more than just a platform for showcasing technologies—it provides the latest industry insights, expands networks and fosters innovative thinking, making it an essential event for professionals across the environmental sector.
